About Distance Learning

Distance Learning is a self-learning process where learners can choose the times and places of study most convenient to them. At OCVC, our students utilise a series of workbooks supported by one of the college tutors, via telephone or email, so that qualifications can be achieved without the need to enter college. This provides a significant benefit to some businesses where employee release off site for training can have a large impact on the business operation.

This method of learning is growing in popularity at the College and provides learners with the motivation and confidence to step forward to undertake additional and more challenging training in the future.

Learners will work through the learning materials and complete assessment tasks at the end of each unit. Learning activities and assessments are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and through work-based activities and experience.

Those who successfully meet the standards in all aspects of the course will be awarded a nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate accredited by recognised awarding bodies.

For more information on Distance Learning, please contact the Employer Services team on 01865 551015 or email employer-enquiries@ocvc.ac.uk
