Hospitality and Catering

We are proud of our long tradition of excellent hospitality and catering courses. We aim to develop creativity within our students and prepare them for a successful career within the industry.

We offer a wide range of vocational and related theory subjects. Our courses can be taken studied both full and part time to allow for a flexible, responsive delivery. Professional standards are at the core of all our courses and students have access to well equipped specialist kitchens and restaurants facilities in which to hone their skills.

Our team of professional lecturers are well qualified to support your learning. In addition, we have a range of specialist subjects delivered by visiting tutors. All our staff have extensive industry experience at some of the best establishments from around the globe. Tutors are passionate about their subject and our students speak highly of the tutorial support they receive. Our aim is to help you reach your potential.

The area maintains a high profile through its public restaurants and close working relationships with employers. In addition, we participate in and are regularly successful in competitions including the Hotel-Olympia International Salon Culinaire. Regional, national and international trips form an important part of the curriculum. Students participate in educational visits to France and Belgium, and an exchange visit with our partner College in Sweden, where students gain valuable industry work placement experience.

Hospitality and Catering are a recognised Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in the South East. We encourage you to visit the department, talk to staff and students, book into our restaurants or sit in on some practical and theory sessions. As part of our interview process and to assist you to make the correct decision about your future, we offer taster days for all new students. You will be made to feel very welcome.
