Students take Egg-stra Care to Raise Money

Students on a Childcare course at the Banbury campus have raised over £500 for the Special Care Baby Unit at the Horton Hospital by looking after raw eggs for a week.
As part of the ‘Make A Difference’ scheme coordinated by the Students Union, ten students on the second year of the Diploma in Childcare in Education course came up with the idea to decorate a raw egg each and then be responsible for the eggs to ensure their ‘wellbeing’.
Students Meredith and Rebecca explained that “we put posters up around the College to try and encourage staff and students to donate some money to our fundraising efforts”.
The students’ tutor, Sue Lloyd said “we thought this was an excellent idea to help raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause – we felt that the eggs were symbolic not only because of their fragility but with it being the run-up to Easter.”
The students are continuing to fundraise for the Special Care Baby Unit at the Horton Hospital.
